WHS Update November 2014

November 01, 2014

It comes as no shock that Christmas is only 48 days away. As the retail industry prepares for one of its busiest trading periods, we ask employers to turn to their minds to their health and safety obligations over the silly season, particularly staff Christmas parties.

We would advise all employers to, if you haven’t already, implement a Christmas party policy, undertake toolbox talks and ensure that your employees know what is expected of them at social events. NRA Legal, the National Retail Association’s own law firm can assist with drafting functions and events policies and preparing documents for toolbox talks and training. We also recommend general WH&S training for senior management who may be PCBUs under the WH&S Act.
