Employee training – well worth the investment

June 15, 2016

Staff training is incredibly beneficial for specific purposes related to your business. You may need your new workers to undertake instruction in a new process or to develop new product knowledge. However including training that develops employees toward long-term career goals can also promote greater job satisfaction. A satisfied employee is likely to stay longer and be more productive while on your team.

Research shows that often employees who receive poor job training leave their positions within the first year. The lack of skills training and development is the main reason for moving on.

As any business owner would know, staff turnover is expensive and with fewer workers, your business’ productivity slips. This leads to a decline in sales and your current staff members are required to work overtime. Workplace morale and satisfaction may suffer. Recruiting replacements takes time, screening and interviewing and upon hiring, retraining applicants. This is a high price to pay for not adequately training staff in the first place.

The National Retail Association Training and Development team help members of all sizes access specialised knowledge and industry-specific expertise in order to grow their business. Combining our specialist skills in training with extensive retail industry experience, our trainers provide relevant and practical training solutions. Our experience and commitment to quality has helped us to become a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for the retail sector. We develop flexible and tailored training and deliver accredited and non-accredited training for our members in locations throughout Australia. We can also help members explore and access any funding opportunities for training that may be available.
